Dr. Emily Oake
Originally from Mississippi, Dr. Emily Oake joined the Alliance in June 2012. As Director of Special Populations, she coordinates programs for homeless and public housing residents, survivors of sexual assault, and domestic violence. She has a Master’s in health sector management. Outside of work, she enjoys gardening and spending time on her urban homestead. Here are some of her favorite things. Dr. Claudia Maldonado
Ana Rodriguez, MD, is a board-certified Family Practice physician in Arizona. She has extensive experience in community health and workforce development, having worked at the Arizona Department of Human Services (ADHS) and other nonprofit organizations. Her work has also involved collaborations with public and private nonprofit organizations, community-based organizations, academic training programs, schools, and local, state, and tribal partners. She has earned a Bachelor of Science in medical technology overseas, a Master of Public Health – Community Medicine, and a Certificate in Graduate Epidemiology from Arizona State University. Additionally, she holds a Yellow Belt certification in continuous quality improvement.
Dr. Meryl Deles
In Tempe, Arizona, Dr. Meryl Deles has helped build community health and wellness. She is dedicated to improving health care in underserved areas and has extensive experience advocating for marginalized populations. As a social worker and a former teacher, Dr. Deles’ studies have focused on public health policy, administration, and community practice. She is also a self-taught digital illustrator.
Dr. Meryl Hernandez

Dr. Jennifer J. Burns
Prior to joining the Alliance, Dr. Burns served in the Arizona Legislature, focusing on health and higher education issues. She is now the Director of Government and Media Relations for the Alliance, working with the Pharmacy Committee and other community health centers to advance the CHC mission. Prior to her current role, she served as a State Representative in Arizona, serving from 2003-2009. Burns held various leadership roles in the Legislature, including Higher Education Committee Chair and Appropriations Committee Vice-Chair. She also served on a number of other committees and boards during her time in the Legislature.
Dr. Elizabeth (Liz) Hernandez
During her time at Mountain Park Health Center, Dr. Liz has seen many people come and go. She has worked with the community to help people become healthy and able to live healthier lives. As an active member of the community, she also enjoys participating in activities that help the community. Her passion for health care and compassion for others have made her a valued member of the community. She is married with three daughters and a wonderful husband. She finds work fulfilling and hopes to build upon her years of experience at the health center.
Dr. Janelle Jones
As a Psychiatrist at Mountain Park Health Center, Dr. Janelle Jones understands the complexity of the issues that patients face in the treatment of substance use disorder. She has worked in a variety of settings and has a passion for substance use disorder treatment. In her spare time, she enjoys traveling and volunteering with local harm reduction groups. She also loves spending time with her family, playing with her nephews, and taking care of her pugs.
